Music Is Medicine

Music Is Medicine Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to donating instruments and teaching time to teenagers being treated in pediatric hospitals, was founded in 2008 by Dr. J Mack Slaughter, a former child actor, a current musician and an Emergency Medicine resident at Parkland Memorial Hospital and at Children's Medical Center. To date, more than 5,000 patients have participated in the program.

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

The North Texas Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is dedicated to combating breast cancer on every front. Up to 75 percent of the affiliate's net income goes toward funding grants to local hospitals and community organizations that provide breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment programs for medically underserved women. The remaining net income supports the national Komen Grants Program, which funds groundbreaking breast cancer research, meritorious awards and educational and scientific programs around the world.

North Texas Food Bank

The North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) is a Dallas nonprofit hunger relief organization that distributes donated, purchased and prepared foods through a network of more than 250 Food Assistance Partners in 13 counties. As a member of Feeding America, they support the nutritional needs of children, families and seniors through education, advocacy and strategic partnerships. The NTFB provides access to 175,000 nutritious meals every day.

Project HOPE Foundation

Project HOPE Foundation describes itself as "a small foundation doing big things for children with autism." HOPE's mission is to Help families, Open minds, Promote inclusion, and Expand potential, and it does this through its four key programs — Hope Link, Hope Reach, Hope Academy, and Hope Alive.

National Kidney Foundation

The National Kidney Foundation, a major voluntary nonprofit health organization, is dedicated to preventing kidney and urinary tract diseases, improving the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by kidney disease and increasing the availability of all organs for transplantation.

PFAMILY Arts

PFAMILY ARTS was established to provide the finest professional training in the performing and visual arts, broadening the acceptance and accessibility of the arts as well as producing some of the finest productions available in the north Dallas area. PFAMILY's goal is to be the preeminent educational provider in the arts and resident professional musical venue for all surrounding areas by offering access to their Performing Arts Academy, Theatre Company, Broadway Concert Series, and various professional classes

Military Warriors Support Foundation

The goal of the Military Warriors Support Foundation is to facilitate a successful transition of the injured men and women of the military back into civilian life. By providing life skills programs, educational opportunities, job placement and training, and homes for the wounded service members and their families, the Foundation is able to help them reorient themselves to residential life.

9-1-1 for Kids®

9-1-1 for Kids® is the official emergency caller training program created by U.S. 9-1-1 communication center officials, emergency medical, and fire and law enforcement professionals who were charged with the task of developing educational tools to help reduce the alarmingly high numbers of non-emergency calls made to 9-1-1.

American Red Cross

The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. Through its network of volunteers, the American Red Cross is able to give support to armed services members and their families, provide access to lifesaving blood and blood products, and help people in times of disaster.

No Paws Left Behind

No Paws Left Behind, Inc. is a non-profit organization driven by the desire to bring awareness to all communities of the silent victims of foreclosure. No Paws Left Behind pledges to help pet owners in danger of foreclosure find suitable shelters for their pets, be a resource to any who know of or find abandoned pets, and unite to bring an end to the needless suffering of the pets left behind.

Denton State Supported Living Center

The Denton State Supported Living Center is the largest of the 12 state living centers in Texas and home to more than 500 individuals with severe and profound mental disabilities. Many current residents now have complicated medical needs and DSSLC provides a safe and well-equipped environment to care for them. The residents work, attend vocational training, go shopping, dining, to church and to recreational activities in Denton and all over the Metroplex. More than half of the school's residents are in wheelchairs.
