Our guest today is Cari McLean, the Director of Social Media at HIMSS. HIMSS is a global, cause-based enterprise that produces thought leadership, events, media and market intelligence to drive transformation of health care around the world through information technology. Cari directs the social media strategy for HIMSS’ five business units, which foster the most authoritative and engaged social audience through resourceful content and provocative digital experiences. Cari also leads and develops HIMSS Media’s social marketing solutions for health and healthcare technology companies.

Under her leadership, the HIMSS Social Media Team earned the Best Social Media Program Award at the 2015 Health IT Marketing & PR Conference and was recognized by BizBash for its creative social media marketing tactics at HIMSS12 and HIMSS14. Cari also established the Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition as the most tweeted about healthcare conference in 2012-2014. Cari joined HIMSS in 2006 and is currently earning her MBA at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
